HearMe is committed to protecting your privacy while using this site. Should we ask you to fill in personal information about yourself, it will only be used in accordance with this privacy statement. We may amend this policy from time to time by updating this page. If we hold your details on our mailing list, we will write to you to let you know when we update our privacy policy. This policy is effective from 01 May 2020.

§ 1 Collection of personal data

We collect a range of information from you when you complete our contact forms. We request this information to help us process your queries. We will retain this information for booking and administration purposes only and we may email you in relation to our meetings / calls.

We also collect information when you complete our electronic mailings sign up forms or typeforms (the forms in our blog section that you complete in order to receive your specified PDF). We may also store this information on our database and use it to follow up with you, either by telephone or through an electronic communication. We use this information to help us understand your needs so we can send you electronic mailings that are most relevant to you. You will receive a confirmation email from us when opting in to electronic mailings. You will only be entered onto our mailing lists if you confirm your wish to opt in. Our electronic mailing list is stored by a third party provider, which is GDPR compliant. 

§ 2 How we use cookies

A cookie is a small file that is automatically stored on your computer’s hard drive, with your permission. We use cookies to analyse web traffic to our sites and to analyse which pages are being visited. This helps us improve our website. We only use this information for statistical purposes

Cookies do not provide us with access to your computer or any information about you, other than the data you choose to share with us.

§ 3 Electronic mailing signup forms

HearMe may use your contact details to send you newsletters, hints and tips, information about courses and events we are involved with, competitions and offers, and further information about our centres or services that may be of interest. We will NOT share your information with third parties with the exception of individuals and companies who are contracted to carry out specific tasks on our behalf. These individuals and companies are subject to the same criteria for keeping your data safe and it will only be used for the purposes of fulfilling their contracted services. 

§ 4 Online therapy platform

If engaging in online therapy with HearMe, we will not, under any circumstances, record any sessions without the explicit prior agreement of the client. The online therapy platform we use is managed by an external provider based outside the UK. The service includes end-to-end encryption for all meetings held on the platform

§ 5 Links to other websites

Our website contains links to other websites that we think may be helpful to you. You should note that once you have clicked these links, we have no control over these sites and cannot be held responsible for any data that may be collected from you while on them.

When visitors leave comments on the site we collect the data shown in the comments form, and also the visitor’s IP address and browser user agent string to help spam detection.
